Welcome to For the Love of Dog

My goal is to provide supportive, positive, relationship-focused training that helps you and your dog learn and grow together.

There is no such thing as a perfect dog or perfect dog guardian. Training takes time, patience, consistency, and understanding. I'm here to help guide and support you throughout the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What training methods do you use?

I use reward-based, relationship-focused training methods rooted in positive reinforcement and modern behavioral science.

I do not use or recommend methods that rely on fear, pain, intimidation, or unnecessary discomfort.

This includes shock collars, prong collars, and choke chains.

My goal is to help you teach and guide your dog through clear communication, management, positive reinforcement, and practical training strategies.

Do you offer virtual training?

Yes. I offer one-on-one virtual dog training throughout the United States.

Virtual training allows your dog to learn in their familiar environment while giving you the skills and confidence to work directly with your dog.

What do I need for a virtual training session?
What types of training can you help with?
Do you work with aggression or serious behavior concerns?

Some behavior concerns require highly specialized experience and support.

At this time, I may not be the best fit for cases involving severe aggression, significant bite history, or other serious safety concerns.

When appropriate, I may recommend consultation with a qualified behavior professional.

How do I know which service is right for me?

If you're unsure where to start, schedule a Virtual Training Consultation. We'll discuss your dog, your goals, and determine the best next steps together.

Important Training Information

Can you guarantee results?

No trainer can ethically guarantee results.

Progress depends on many factors including consistency, practice, environment, management, and your dog's individual needs.

Will I receive homework?

Yes.

Practice between sessions is an important part of training success. You'll receive personalized recommendations and exercises to work on.

What if my dog doesn't cooperate?

That's completely okay.

Dogs have challenging days just like people do. Training should never be about forcing performance. We'll adjust as needed and support your dog where they are.

Health & Safety

Health Considerations

Please let me know about any medical conditions, injuries, medications, or other concerns that may affect training.

If pain or a medical condition may be contributing to behavior, I may recommend consulting your veterinarian.

Training Equipment & Methods

Equipment Policy

I use reward-based, relationship-focused training methods.

I do not use or recommend aversive tools such as:

However, this is a judgment-free space.

Many dog guardians were introduced to these tools by trainers, friends, family members, or other sources. My goal is never to shame or criticize where someone is starting.

Instead, I work with clients to identify practical, humane alternatives that support both learning and well-being.
